My Journey

There was a time in my life when I had muscle imbalances in my body that caused poor posture and chronic back pain that restricted my movements. After my first yoga class, I vowed I would always do yoga because my body felt better, looser and freer. I felt emotionally lighter. I liked it so much, I became a Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance in 2003.

At the end of 2003, my beautiful son was born. We had a blast doing Mommy & Me yoga. Darling son number 2 came along in 2005, which meant we had twice the fun rolling around on the floor, crawling through obstacle courses, singing, dancing and lots of laughing. My kids taught me a bunch about having fun while doing yoga.

I believe every child should experience that feeling of being centered, focused and “at home” in their bodies. This led me to find the fantastic teaching program, YogaKids International Inc., that supports the whole child: mind, body and spirit. I received my YogaKids certification in 2018.

My passion is to guide children of all ages to tap into their innate abilities to learn and explore, to bring their whole selves to everything they do: school, friendships, sports– everything. I believe yoga can enrich children's lives and their sense of compassion for themselves, others and the world around them.

Since 2003, I have been teaching adult yoga classes at CACfit, originally Courthouse Athletic Club, in Auburn, CA. Along with teaching, I attend yoga related training and conferences to maintain my certification through Yoga Alliance.

Facts about me: When I'm not practicing yoga, I'm flying airplanes with my family, cooking or reading a good fiction novel. I love to swim, hike and ride bikes. I am a cancer survivor.
